We played an excellent first half, so it's surprising that we found ourselves 3-1 down at half time. They converted their only foray into our half in the first 10 minutes after Chris H had squandered 2 one-on-ones, one being in the first minute, played through by Chris M. Martin was getting stuck in and had a good debut game. Steve N is back to his old self and Mike held the back line, with Chris M bossing the middle. Chris H found the net from the more difficult chance to draw level, but in the last couple of minutes of the first half they gave Barry no chance with 2 goals - one close range from a scramble and multiple deflections, the third goal coming from an excellent take from their best player.
In the second half they were the better side but Barry kept us in it a few times with some great stops. Their keeper came out of the goal to stop Chris H running through and the ball came to Steve N who executed a delightful chip over everyone into the net. With a couple of minutes to go Steve played Chris H through on the right who shot low into the near corner to draw level. Barry made one final really brave save right at the death to keep the scores level.
It was a really enjoyable game.

Sorry Eddie, he's got a 25 year deal to pay us £5 a game.
