What a satisfying win; everyone played well and utterly outstanding performances from Ed and Chris M and good to see Steve playing a full game for the first time in a while. They started off better, keeping possession but not really threatening, although we nearly went ahead early as Steve threaded a ball through to Alex in on goal but saved by the keeper's leg. We started to gain possession and a quickly taken corner found Tom who passed the ball to Chris H to drive into the bottom corner. Just before half time a move involving most players was coolly finished by Alex to take us into half time at 2-0. In the second half they reorganised their team with their best 2 players having a lot of the ball, but Chris M was making some superb tackles and interceptions. Ed pulled off 3 fantastic saves to keep us ahead and Alex also made a goal line clearance. Out of nothing Tom drove in a daisycutter to make it 3-0 and we all worked hard to see the game out as they pressed on for a goal. 3-0 possibly flattered us slightly, but we definitely deserved the win.
